An eSIM hotspot is a feature that allows you to use data from your eSIM to broadcast Wi-Fi, sharing your internet connection with devices such as laptops, tablets, or other phones. This is especially useful when you only have one eSIM plan but need to connect multiple devices.
Benefits of setting up an eSIM hotspot while traveling:
No need to use expensive roaming data from your main SIM, saving on roaming costs.
Flexible and convenient with the ability to connect to the network anytime, anywhere.
Reduce your reliance on public Wi-Fi, which is often unstable and insecure.

Before you begin setting up your eSIM hotspot, you need to ensure your device supports eSIM and personal hotspot functionality. Next, confirm that your eSIM plan allows hotspot creation. Finally, make sure you have installed the eSIM in your device!
Open Settings > Mobile Data > Personal Hotspot
If you see the option "Allow others to join," turn it on.
Set up APN for the hotspot.
Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Plan > Select the eSIM you are using
Tap on Mobile Data Network
In the Personal Hotspot APN section, accurately enter the APN information provided by your eSIM provider (Aviro). For example: “internet”, “web”, or “data” depending on your plan.
Leave the Username and Password fields blank unless required.
Connect other devices to the eSIM hotspot.
On another device, find the WiFi network by the name displayed in the Personal Hotspot section.
Enter the password to connect.
Note: Some eSIM packages require a device restart after APN setup for the hotspot to function properly.
Set up or adjust the eSIM APN first.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network
Select your current eSIM > Access Point Name (APN)
Create a new APN or edit an existing one. Fill in the correct information from the eSIM provider Aviro.
Turn on personal hotspot
Go back to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Sharing
Select WiFi Hotspot and turn it on.
Customize hotspot
Change the network name (SSID) and set a password to protect the hotspot.
You can also choose the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band if your device supports it.
Connect another device to the eSIM hotspot.
On the device you want to access, find the hotspot's SSID and enter the password you set.
Note: The steps above may vary depending on the specific device.
Besides sharing your connection via WiFi, you can also use other sharing methods once you've set up an eSIM hotspot:
Bluetooth tethering: Connecting via Bluetooth consumes less energy than WiFi, saving battery life on your phone. It's especially useful when you only need to transfer light data such as browsing the web, checking email, or chatting. However, Bluetooth connection speeds are generally slower, making it unsuitable for downloading large files or streaming videos online.
Sharing via USB cable (USB tethering): With USB tethering, you connect your phone directly to another device (usually a laptop) using a charging cable. This method provides a stable and faster internet speed, while also charging your phone during use. This is an ideal option if you work long hours on your laptop or need to access the internet for extended periods.

When using a personal hotspot eSIM, you need to keep the following points in mind:
Data management : Sharing a network consumes data very quickly. Therefore, regularly monitor your data usage in Settings or your eSIM management app.
Battery drain : Turning on the hotspot causes the phone to heat up and drain the battery quickly, so you should use a power bank.
Connection limit : Depending on the model, the network can only be shared with 5–10 devices simultaneously.
Network security : Always set a strong password to prevent unauthorized access by strangers.
Restrictions from network providers : Some providers or eSIM packages may not allow hotspot sharing, or may limit speed after exceeding a certain data limit.
Additionally, Aviro has some tips for you in case you encounter errors setting up your eSIM hotspot:
No WiFi network found : Please check if your hotspot is enabled and if your device is within range.
Unable to connect : Change network name or password, check APN settings.
Hotspot not working even though it's enabled : Make sure your eSIM plan supports hotspot sharing. Otherwise, you won't be able to use this feature even if you've set it up correctly.
