What is eSIM and which devices can use it?

An eSIM is an electronic SIM card built into the phone, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. You can use it immediately by scanning a QR code. iPhones from the XS onwards, many Samsung Galaxy models, Google Pixel phones, etc., support eSIM. However, some iPhone and Samsung models purchased in Japan, China, Macau, and Hong Kong may not support eSIM.

How do I install an eSIM?

For iOS:

  1. Open Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM
  2. Choose Use QR code > Scan QR code directly or Upload image from photo library
  3. You name the eSIM Aviro and then complete the installation.
  4. Select the newly installed eSIM as the primary line in the Mobile Data section and tap on the newly installed eSIM to enable Data Roaming.

For Android:

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM Management > Add mobile plan
  2. Choose Scan QR Code > Scan QR Code directly or Upload image from photo library
  3. You name the eSIM Aviro and then complete the installation.
  4. Select the newly installed eSIM as the primary line in the Mobile Data section and tap on the newly installed eSIM to enable Data Roaming.

Note: Before installation, please ensure your device supports eSIM and that you have received the QR code or necessary information from Aviro.

Is it possible to install multiple eSIMs on a single device?

You can install multiple eSIMs on one device. However, please note that only one eSIM and one physical SIM can be used simultaneously, allowing you to use two different phone numbers on the same device. You can change each eSIM's internet connection in the "Mobile Data" settings. It's advisable to give your eSIMs easily recognizable names, especially when installing multiple eSIMs on one phone.

Can eSIM be used in conjunction with a Vietnamese SIM card?

Absolutely. You can keep your primary SIM for domestic calls and messages while using Aviro's eSIM for internet access abroad. This feature is very convenient, doesn't require removing the SIM, and ensures continuous connectivity. Make sure your primary SIM is registered for roaming before leaving Vietnam. Do not enable the "allow mobile data switching" function to prevent your phone from using data from your primary SIM. Using roaming from a Vietnamese SIM can be very expensive and cause signal interference in some cases, so unless absolutely necessary, we recommend turning off your Vietnamese SIM line and using only your Aviro line for your phone.

Does eSIM support data tethering?

Most eSIMs allow data sharing via a hotspot. However, depending on your provider and phone model, some plans only support internet access for the device with the eSIM and do not allow Wi-Fi sharing to other devices. Therefore, you should carefully check the eSIM plan information and your phone's configuration before purchasing to ensure data sharing is available.

Can the Aviro travel eSIM be used in many countries?

Yes. Aviro offers many eSIM packages that work in multiple countries, allowing you to connect to the internet in many destinations with great convenience. For example, regional eSIM packages such as those covering 35 European countries, China - Hong Kong - Macau, Singapore - Indonesia - Malaysia - Thailand, etc., can work in many countries. You just need to check the list of supported countries in the package description to choose the one that suits your needs.

How long is a travel eSIM valid for?

Depending on the package, eSIMs can have a validity period of 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 30 days . This period is calculated from the moment you activate the eSIM, not from the time of purchase. Please note that the QR code is valid for 30 days; if there are any changes to your flight schedule, please contact Aviro for assistance in canceling and receiving a new package. With flexible options such as daily packages and data packages, you can easily choose an eSIM package with a validity period that suits your travel schedule.

Can devices other than mobile phones use eSIM My SIM?

This depends on your device's LTE band and the LTE band in the country you're visiting. The LTE band on this device (not this phone) must match the band in the country you're visiting.

LTE networks use multiple frequency bands:

  • North America: primarily 700, 1700, 1900, and 2100 MHz
  • Europe: mainly 800, 1800, 2600 MHz
  • Asia: 1800, 2600 MHz
  • Australia: 1800 MHz
  • Taiwan: 700, 900, 1800 MHz

Therefore, the device may work well in one country but not in another if it doesn't support the appropriate frequency band. Thus, you need a multi-band supported device to use Aviro eSIM for international trips.

For devices other than mobile phones with a physical SIM slot, please contact our customer service department for advice on whether the device supports eSIM and network roaming.

How can I check which eSIM is using data?

For iOS:

  1. Open Settings > Cellular (Make sure you have eSIM enabled)
  2. Select Mobile Data
  3. An eSIM with a tick mark indicates that the eSIM is using data.

For Android:

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM Management (Make sure you have eSIM enabled)
  2. Scroll down and check the eSIM data usage under Mobile Data.
Can eSIM share Wi-Fi with other devices?

Most of Aviro's eSIM packages allow data sharing via Wi-Fi hotspot functionality. However, some packages may have limitations depending on your carrier's regulations. You should carefully review the details of each package in the product description or contact us for specific advice.

How do I delete my eSIM?

For iOS:

  1. Open Settings > Mobile
  2. Select the eSIM you want to remove from the device. If eSIM is not enabled, turn it on.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Delete eSIM

For Android:

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM Management (Make sure you have eSIM enabled)
  2. Select the eSIM you want to remove from the device.
  3. Select Delete eSIM or Remove and confirm.

Note: Once eSIM is removed from the device, it cannot be reinstalled. Therefore, you should consider carefully and only remove it when you no longer need it.

What should I do if I encounter problems activating my eSIM?

If you encounter installation errors or are unable to connect to the network after scanning the QR code, first check if your device is connected to Wi-Fi and ensure you follow the instructions correctly. If it still doesn't work, simply contact Aviro via chat or call our hotline at 0384.909.454 for the quickest assistance. If you are abroad, please find a Wi-Fi hotspot at the airport or hotel to contact us. We are always ready to assist you with troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly.
